Annie Bell Jackson-Washington passed into the great beyond Monday, October 1, 1984 at 8:45 p.m. at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas to be with the Lord.
Annie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Crosby, Texas for more than 65 years. She served the Lord the best as she knew how. She loved the Lord and she was a real good neighbor and so many counted her as a friend.
Annie was born April 18, 1900 in Evergreen, Louisiana to the union of Joseph Jackson, Sr. and Louise Nicholson-Jackson. She united in Holy Matrimony to Rev. Alex Washington, Sr. in 1917 and remained until death departed them. To this union, seven children were born. They all lived together after the death of Rev. Washington.
Annie will be missed by her friends and family, especially her daughter Mary "Bugar" Washington, whom she was very close to and with all the time. Annie's children did all they could to prolong her life and make it comfortable for her. But the time had come for her to live in another place.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Alex Washington, Sr.; one son, George Washington; one grandson, Michael Eugene Outley; 7 brothers, Milton Jackson, Odean Jackson, Arthur "Autto" Jackson, William "Bill Jackson, Fredrick "Honk" Jackson, David "T-Nunk Dave" Jackson, and Walter Jackson; and 4 sisters, Isabella Jackson, Rebecca Jackson-Payne-Washington, Eva Jackson-Franklin-Fagan, and Lorena Jackson-Hayes-Bowden.
She leaves to mourn her homegoing: one son, Alex "Mane" Washington, Jr. of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Velma Washington, of Houston, Texas, Mable Washington-Outley, Mary "Bugar" Washington, Louise "Red" Washington-Mitchell, and Lillie Washington all of Crosby, Texas; one brother, Joseph Jackson, Jr. of Evergreen, Louisiana; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
